On the Road, 2022, 14” x 14”
On the winding road lined with blond, golden or brown fields, a colourful world passes each other, sometimes without flinching or even seeing each other, their eyes fixed on the ground, sometimes hailing each other and greeting each other loudly. There are those who go to the cathedral, filled with fervor and joy, and those who return, appeased, happy to have accomplished this long journey. This man is not filled with fervor, but he has been walking for a long time, looking for something he does not yet know how to define, that he does not know how to name; or simply has he challenged himself, wants to cut the bridges with his old life to prepare himself for the new one that awaits him. Will he too be at peace at the end of the journey?

Sur la route sinueuse bordée de champs blonds, dorés ou bruns, un monde bariolé se croise, parfois sans broncher ni même se voir, le regard vissé au sol, parfois en se hélant et en se saluant bruyamment. Il y a ceux qui vont vers la cathédrale, remplis de ferveur et de joie, et ceux qui en reviennent, apaisés, heureux d’avoir accompli ce long chemin. Cet homme-là n’est pas rempli de ferveur, mais il marche depuis longtemps, à la recherche de quelque chose qu’il ne sait pas encore définir, qu’il ne sait pas nommer peut-être ; ou tout simplement s’est-il lancé un défi, veut-il couper les ponts avec son ancienne vie pour se préparer à la nouvelle qui l’attend. Sera-t-il apaisé, lui aussi, à la fin du voyage ?
