Hang out the laundry! 2022, 14” x 14”
The beach is within reach, there, in front of us, ready to jump towards the warm sand, the small pools that formed when the sea withdrew, the games that await us. In the kitchen, we hear Mom's voice: "go hang the laundry". Blast! What a chore as unexpected as hated! We take the clothespins which we throw in the air, then we have fun to pull on the sheets hardly hung. The linen falls in the grass, we have to start again. We have invented a new game! The beach will wait!

La plage est à portée de la main, là, devant nous qui somment prêtes à bondir vers le sable chaud, les petites mares qui se sont formées lorsque la mer s’est retirée, les jeux qui nous attendent. Dans la cuisine, on entend la voix de Maman : « allez étendre la lessive ! ». Flûte ! Quelle corvée aussi inattendue que détestée ! Nous prenons les pinces à linge que nous lançons en l’air, puis nous nous amusons à tirer sur les draps à peine accrochés. Le linge tombe dans l’herbe, il faut recommencer. Nous avons inventé un nouveau jeu ! La plage attendra !
